Chelsea FC and Disney have announced a long-term marketing partnership, aimed at raising the football club’s profile in the US. Chelsea, which aims to become the world’s biggest footballing club brand, will now become the official professional soccer club of Disney’s Wide World of Sports and a presenting sponsor of the Disney Soccer Showcase series. It will be associated with one of America’s top youth soccer destinations – the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex – and also Disney’s Soccer Showcase.
The club will also appear at other Disney-created football events through coaching sessions under its Football in the Community banner. There is also going to be an annual educational exchange programme where a Chelsea Soccer Academy team will visit Disney’s complex and a team from Disney’s soccer programme will train at the Chelsea football academy.
It is expected that the two companies will try and find more ways to work together in future.
